Photography found me, I did not find photography. Since then it is a constant in my life.
I am trying to capture the beauty in the ordinary and the banal. I do not like retouching.
I am just observing and taking photos, sometimes in a mindful way.
I like the element of surprise. I am leaving my home with an open mind and heart and go with the flow.
I like prime lenses, zoom is a distraction.
I like black and white recently more. Colour is also a distraction.
Lots of cameras is not !
I have recently become more serious, in a fun and a creative way, with analogue photography.
120 mm and 35 mm film and toned cyanotypes from digital negatives. Also, I have my darkroom, in my toilet.
I still, after all these years, consider one of the magic moments in life, the appearance of the image under the red light.

2012: One of my photos (from the Appreciation of Rubbish series) has been shortlisted by an independent panel of art critics for BBC2’s ‘Show Me the Monet’
